Absolute Radio (formerly known as Virgin Radio) is a station true to its rock roots. We play the very best music from the last 40 years which means we don’t do manufactured pop or R&B. Absolute Radio is about The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, The Police and Joy Division, Oasis and Blur as well as the latest releases from the likes of Coldplay, Kasabian and Snow Patrol.

For starters, try breakfast with Christian O’Connell, weekdays from 6am to 10am, he brings his very own mix of mayhem to the airwaves. During the day check out Russ Williams, who has the 80s hour and your suggestions for ‘I haven’t heard it for ages’. Then it’s Afternoon Tea with Nick Jackson, bringing you the best real music.

Later in the day make sure you catch Geoff Lloyd’s Hometime Show from 5pm. It’s a wacky world full of curious features. Then from 8pm join Vicki Blight for the best songs from the last 5 decades plus a whole host of future hits.
