Planned Interruptions

This section is used to record any planned interruptions to services on the Digital One network. There are many reasons for interruptions, including installing equipment, general maintenance and preventative work.

The information given is designed to help listeners, manufacturers and retailers understand why services may be temporarily lost or signal strength may be temporarily reduced.

DARVEL TRANSMITTER
Ayr, Kilmarnock and parts of Ayrshire
Dates: 23 Feb 2010 to 23 Mar 2010 Time: 10:00 - 16:00
Effect(s) on service: Reduced power (-6dB for a single day, then -3.9dB half antenna working), with up to 5min shutdown at start and end of work between the above times on 7 days between the above dates. Note that 6 days will run continuously without switching back each day.

EMLEY MOOR TRANSMITTER
Yorkshire
Dates: 27 Jun 2009 to 4 May 2010 Time: 09:30 - 16:30
Effect(s) on service: 127 days of continuous reduced power (half antenna working -3dB), then a further 111 days of continuous reduced power (half antenna working -3dB) with more reduced power (-6dB) between the above times. At the start and end of periods of reduced power there will be a short shutdown between the above times between the above dates. Occasionally, there may be periods of reduced power between 16:30 and 06:00 but these will be kept to a minimum. No work will take place from 12 Dec 09 - 3 Jan 10

Effect(s) on service: Reduced power (-9dB) between the above times on 7 days betwen the above dates to allow DSO work.

SUTTON COLDFIELD TRANSMITTER
Birmingham, W Midlands and Staffordshire incl Sutton Coldfield and Walsall
Dates: 23 Sep 2009 to 23 Nov 2010 Time: 09:30 - 16:30
Effect(s) on service: 3 days of reduced power (-6dB and -9dB), 1 day of reduced power (-6dB). 3 x 15 minute shutdowns between the above times on three day between the above dates. 4 days with shutdowns and periods of reduced power between the above times. The remaining days broadcasting continuously at full power, but 30m lower than normal on a temporary mast to allow DSO work.
